Why must the output image be saved in PNG format?
The JPEG image format does not support transparency configuration (the alpha channel). If this tool exported your file to JPG, the browser would automatically fill the four empty outer corners of the circle with a solid white color. Choosing PNG format is the only way to retain a clean transparent background cutout.
